Port Douglas is approximately one hours drive north of Cairns International Airport, in Tropical North Queensland Australia.  The Captain Cook Highway is one of the best drives in the world, it hugs the coast and has plenty of viewing stops.

Port Douglas is the closest town to the Great Barrier Reef offering fantastic diving and snorkelling or just sail out to the Low Isles for a beautiful day on a sand island surrounded by reef fish, turtles and amazing bird life.

The Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation are easily accessible by car or take a 4 wheel drive tour! Also don't forget to visit Mossman Gorge and the great swimming holes

How to get to us at Port Douglas

Cairns Airport offers direct domestic flights from Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Darwin and Townsville as well as to Alice Springs and Ayers Rock (Uluru) and regional centres. There are direct international flights to Auckland, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Guam, Port Moresby and to Singapore via Darwin.

If you have your own car or a hire car, simply head north from Cairns on the Captain Cook Highway then turn right into Port Douglas road shortly after Craiglie follow this road through two roundabouts then turn right into Seabrook then second left into Sorrento.

Eating and drinking in Port

Port Douglas is famous for its great restaurants and cafés, from gourmet to great pub food there is something to suit every taste and budget

There are two major supermarkets near us making self catering a breeze. If you want to really splash out… a short drive north to Mossman to find some award winning sausages, of course being so close to the reef the local fishmongers are always well stocked!

Warning. If sampling the fantastic fishing, watch out for the Crocodiles!!
